I was raped.

It is not something I did.
It is something that was done to me.
 I am not to blame.

It was not my fault.
I was the victim of a violent crime.
I was hurt.

I need help.
I can recover.
I can get my life back.

"Sexual Assault is a crime that robs victims of their dignity and their security."
- North Dakota Governor John Hoeven

If you have been raped, there are many services in North Dakota to help you. These services include highly trained medical professionals, counselors, and lawyers who will work together in a respectful way to help overcome the trauma.

Rape falls under the category of sexual assault in North Dakota, and can happen to anyone. It does not matter whether the other person is a stranger, friend, partner, or spouse. After giving any indication that you do not want to go further, the act could be considered sexual assault. Rape is not only a traumatic physical event, but also presents a large number of challenges for the victim.

If you have been raped, there are many organizations in North Dakota that can help you to cope with the trauma, to keep you away from danger, and help you get medical treatment.
